Can I use Ceder mulch around my Veggies?

Hey everyone, I was just wondering, can I use Ceder mulch around my Veggies? I have about 4 bags left over from a different project and I would like to use it on my veggies? The reason I ask is because I wonder if it'll breakdown like regular mulch would.
Any help would be great.

Oh, and here's hoping that everyone has a bug/pest free growing season with a bumper crop. : )

I wouldn't. It will be very slow to break down and might also inhibit growth.

I wouldn't use cedar mulch. Cedars like to grow in acid soil. Veggies prefer higher pH or basic soil.
