Rose Bush

last year I discovered an old rose bush that was being masked by a thick section of shrubs. I assume it had been forgotten by the previous owners. There wer no blooms and it was getting very little sun. I cut it down to the ground and moved it to a sunny location. There is a ton of new growth but still no blooms as of yet. Is there anything else that i should be doing?

Make sure it gets plenty of water. I would hold off on fertilizing in until it is settled in. Good luck!

Also, it could be a once-bloomer, meaning that it only blooms in the spring on last year's growth. You may have cut off the canes that would hold this year's blooms. If it doesn't bloom this year, you'll have to wait until next year to see, and next spring only cut off anything that is dead.
