Looking to find some Jersey tomato growers. Should we just use this forum or does anyone know of a better (more Jersey specific).

I harvested my first nine (9) red tomatoes this weekend. Heirloom Aurora variety. Started seeds indooors on New Years Eve and 150 days later voila !! 150 is my new magic number.

Take a look at www.tomtomato.com

Obviously you must have grown them in pots because mid June is not exactly average for tomato growers anywhere in New Jersey. How do they taste, is has been rather cool.

That's awesome! All I have is one half orange grape tomato. (eventually it will be the red variety, just not there yet)

Aurora gets good reviews in the Seed Savers Exchange Catalogue. Tomato set has just begun at home, so far on Black Krim, Brandywine OTV, and Opalaka. For me it still a long long way to fresh fruit.

I have 3 "Juliet" tomatoes that just turned orange; I can't wait to sink my teeth into that first one. I just hope I get it before some animal does. Think I'll go out there and protect it a little better. I had a gorgeous strawberry that I was drooling over; I looked outside and saw THE SQUIRREL HOLDING IT! I'll be damned if I'm going to lose that 1st Juliet to ANYTHING or anyone, LOL...

Way to go!!!
I have 4 very small green tomatoes, and about 4 tiny green peppers. Had been so awfully cool here, but now all seems to be ok.

I went to go pick my first Juliet, and it was GONE! I FREAKED! DD was on the deck with the neighbors kids and quickly yelled out that BRIAN ATE IT (8yo). Did you ever just want to strangle somebody?!?!?!??!?!? I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO angry...
