I was just at the Rutgers Plant Sale and their Choice Cream had unattractive beige-ish flowers. Not just fading. And my Choice Cream is obviously mis-labeled - it is apparently a yellow-orange austrinum.

Songbird migration fell off precipitously these past 7-10 days here along the shore (at least my backyard) because of the East winds. Though it looked like Sandy Hook had good birds this week.

A nice flurry in the trees last evening (B&W, Yellow, Redstart, Tanager, B. Oriole Some of the elipidotes, I took with a flash, with the attendant rosy pink hues being 'whited out'.

More to come, especially Mountain Laurels in the next 10 days.

Loretta, I love KS. Then again, I love all my plants.

It really is a beautiful plant. Unusaly different is what sets it apart and in my garden, it's perfectly sited near a dw. Japanese maple 'Red Dragon' for a stunning effect.

How is the bloom period? Is it over in a week or does it go on a little?

Hi Loretta. Expect a minimum of 2 weeks. This plant will be broader than it is tall. 4' wide eventually, topping out at little over 2' tall.

It's stunning when in flower.
