New Guide to NJ Nurseries just published.....

My summer issue of "Gardening News" from Pope's Gardens in
Waterford, NJ had the following piece of news:

"Pope's Gardens is honored to be included in a new publication entitled 'Where To Buy The Best Plants in New York & New Jersey'. The author's standard for inclusion is simple: each nursery offers something distinctive, is accessible to home gardeners, and, above all, grows really good plants. The book is written by Ruah Donnelly, a well-known garden writer and the winner of the 2001 Quill & Trowel Book Award from the Garden Writer's Assoc. of America."

It's available at (paperback) for $25.95 (OUCH!); also used copies at $15.57. . .I'm headed out to
Barnes & Noble to check it out (may have to go to a bigger B & N in New York City). If and when I find it, I'll
post a review.

RE: New Guide to NJ Nurseries just published.....

This book is excellent. I had the good fortune of reading a copy given to one of the nurseries listed in the book. The information is accurate with a touch of humor. The author has included personal stories and background information about the nursery owners that give this guide a friendly feeling. The included directions are right on and include hours of operation. With this guide, searching for new places and plants will be as much fun as enjoying them after they are planted.
