Can I Still Start Zukes and Cukes from Seed This Late?

Hey Everyone!

I was away for a few days, came home, and discovered that squirrels and/or chipmunks had dug up all around most of my cuke plants, and zuchinni which killed them. I am so sad!
Have any of you ever started from seed this late for cucumbers and zuchinni?

Thanks! Christy

Yes.
I plants cukes at three different times during the season. Then I harvest them right up until frost.

Thanks jarnold! Just curious, what months do you start them at those 3 times? Curious to know what the latest date is that you plant the seeds?

I start my first batch in April indoors and put them outside between May 15th and May 30th. Right about now I will start the second group inside, because, I, too, have a squirrel-digging-problem. The third group will be in August and usually can harvest before the first frost.
