 o
best time to landscape

We are planning to landscape our front yard. We had intended on getting the work started in the spring. Now we are wondering if we should wait until fall. Is it best to avoid the summer? I guess the question is when is the best time to landscape? We plan to plant (and transplant) mostly shrubs and trees.

You could do it now, but I'd wait until fall. This would be a good time to prepare the ground; and in the mean time you could plant some annuals for summer interest.

Summer is tough. The sun is hot, water is minimal. I'd wait until early fall. Trees and shrubs often take 6-12 months show signs of stress. Not like annuals, or perennials where you can water them when they wilt and they perk up.
