Sometimes a late sowing of lettuce in August will yield before hard frost. Then there are carrots and beets.

This is a good time to plant pansy's and johnny-jump-ups under lights for a fall planting. I usually do it with the later because I like to have hundreds ready to plant in September.

I noticed that HD doens't have seeds available any more. Any thoughts on where to get them? I live in Bridgewater.

You might do Swiss Chard--it is cold tolerant and quite productive. Some people claim they can baby it right through most of the winter.
