Multitudes of bumblebees in the wild monarda in my field! It was such a surprise and so great to see so many.

It sure is a beautiful site! It seems there's ALOT more flying around this year; my neighbors ROS is filled with bees & wasps, and the hummer's going nuts on it! In my 11 years of gardening, I've never been stung, until Saturday. Don't know what it was, but it burned like h#$l for a few minutes. Probably a yellow jacket. No allergic reactions, thankfully. Still, glad to see all the bees...

The bees - honey, bumble and itty bitty - are going crazy in the monarda here too. Such a relief after this spring when there was only the rare carpenter bee to be seen.
