peppers

I planted bell and chili pepper plants and tomato plants in my back yard. I used Sta-Green (I think) bedding soil and used Miracle Gro. My father-in-law also did the tomato and chili pepper plants in back yard dirt and no Miracle Gro. Both of our tomatoes are coming out good. His chili pepper plants are the same size yet he has a few peppers, 4 to 5 inches and I have none. Anybody have any idea why that is? I am new to gardening so any tips and/or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanx

I've already picked some cubanelle, pablano, and anaheim peppers off my plants. My experience with them is that they absolutely need lots of sun. My tomatoes and peppers get it all day. I'm talking at least 8 hours worth.

Thanx for the info. Mine get at least 6 hours of sun. I did notice over the weekend that I am starting to get a few peppers. However, we pick 2 already off my father-inlaw's plants. Guess I'll just have to wait and see with mine.

Don't be surprised if you get a ton of them in August and sept, not to mention Oct. Sometimes it just goes that way. I've even picked peppers in Dec one year when it was real mild.

I am starting to get peppers now. I see at least 5 or 6 of them. I guess good things come to those who wait. :-) Thanks for the input.
