My tomatoes are sitting at half mast. Need to tie the suckers up better. If this keeps up they will need an ark really soon.

I'm afraid to go out to the garden. I can see from the window everything is soggy and drooping. I'm hoping the sun will dry everything but I fear we'll be doing a lot of staking tomorrow. I haven't finished mulching either, Redbeetle.

I'll take these soaking rains every 4-5 days. Monarda, cleome & phlox had to be tamped to allow them to be upright again. But then again, the environment & gardens are all the more better for it. Nature's water is so much preferable to that of tap water.

I also look forward to the 2nd burst of foliar growth to many of my specimen plantings that July/August rains bring.

I am happy that the rain waited a little this year so I at least got to enjoy my roses. Seems every year, it downpours right at the height of rose season just to knock the extra full ones down.

I'm with Loretta, rain good, rain after first rose flush, even better! I too wouldn't mind a nice soaking rain every 5 days or so, would save a few $$ on the water bill.

Regardless of faithful watering with hose, or sprinkler, a true growth spurt seems to follow natural rain. Lightning puts a little Nitrogen into the rain and that may be part of the effect. Still, I agree, there are times when enough is enough.
