Plant ID-pics

Can someone please ID the plants below? Both were photographed this July in Cape May County and both have been there for several years. The first is a large 5'+ and the 2nd just a little smaller. Both are in full sun.

It's late and my vision is blurring after a long day, but that first one looks like vitex, a/k/a chaste tree. The second looks much like veronica, a/k/a speedwell.

The second looks like the purple loosestrife I keep trying to get rid of from my yard.
