Anybody else a brugmansia addict?

I was bitten by the brug bug several years ago, then my Charles Grimaldi died. This year I ordered six plants from FL -- 1 Charles Grimaldi, 2 Elizabeths, and 2 Painted Ladies. All grown in huge containers on our deck.

If you've never tried these, you should -- you will become an addict! They have spectacular trumpet flowers that hang down in yellows, whites, pinks, etc. But the moment the sun goes down they send out the most amazing aroma, sort of like vanilla/lemon.

You need to bring them indoors in winter in NJ, though. But it's apparently easy to root cuttings and bring them back to life in spring.

I used to grow brugs when I lived overseas. I also love datura as well. I don't have brugs yet here but am hoping to get some datura started.

I have a photo that's from when I lived overseas as my blog page background this week! I grew it from a cutting that I took in my suitcase!

Enjoy!
