plants are dying in my soil

MY plants are dying ,some strange roots in the soil, which
are choking plants.If anybody saw these roots, i cannot remove them ,dig,cut,but they are growing again.You see them on a picture,thank you.Photo shows roots removed from soil.

I doubt many can identify a plant from its roots. Roots seve a function o absorption. What type of plant which above the ground are the roots attached?

Are you gardening near trees, especially maples? Tree roots are severe competition for moisture and can easily result in death of plants. As you said, roots can regrow quickly.
