| Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there are any nurseries, garden centers, etc. that carry organically grown plants in NJ. I'm looking for perennials at the moment :) Thank you!!! Rebecca |

| Hi Rebecca I grow organic, and am wondering why you are concerned about perennials which are organically grown in nurseries? I have never worried about it, assuming that how I treat them is much more critical than the nursery. Veggies and herbs are a different story. Here in suburbia southern NJ I have a difficult time finding organic supplies, and have never seen a commercial operation offering organic plants. Annie |

| There is a couple (and I'm ashamed to say that I can't remember the name of the business, but her name is Tammy) who sell at the Red Bank Farmer's Market on Sundays. In addition to the fruits and vegitables and baked goods, they sell perennials, including some nice R. rugosas that I don't have room for and herb plants. The farmer's market is in the parking lot of the Galleria on Front Street in Red Bank (across the street from the Wawa). |

| Chelsea, an AWESOME place to get perennials is well sweep herb farm in Warren County. It's a good place to spend a whole afternoon. The selection is amazing and the plants are top notch. They have a web site too. Good luck. |

| Hi Safariman and Diane, Thank you so much for the info! I will definitely be checking them out :) Hi Annie, Organic perennials are hard to come by :) The reason that I'm looking for them is that I'm concerned about the use of pesticides in general. So even though I'm not eating them, I'm still concerned about the chemicals being used to grow them. I'm excited to check out the two suggestions made by Diane and safariman. I usually just do exactly what you do and only use organic care once the plants are home, but if I can find some that started off this way-even better! :) Take care, Rebecca |
