Hi All

We moved to a new house in bergen county recently. The previous owner had A LOT of globe shaped big evergreens.

We got some help and moved those evergreens to a line - where they look well 'planned' and 'organized', instead of being planted anywhere and everywhere on the property. We did keep most of the root intact on every evergreen, except cutting some thin branches which were going beyond 18-20 diameter.

We dig holes slightly bigger then the root, planted them in these new holes and covered it back with the same soil, which came out of the ground to make these holes (except any stones that came out).

Now, I am thinking, should we have applied any fertilizer in these holes before replanting the evergreens? or should we have used better soil to refill the holes?

What are my options now to ensure that the plants don't die and that they are able to survive at their new home? Most of these were mature plants with about 4 feet diameter at the top and about 3 feet high.

Thank you for any advice.
