Alpinia japonica is completely hardy here. Hedychiums normally survive winter with a good mulch to prevent ground freezing. I have Hedychiums flowering now.

I would have loved to see them. Unfortunately, I could not come to your place for the swap because my 8-year old son had his karate test and my daughter had soccer. Also I do not have any special plants yet to share. This year I bought quite a few interesting perennials (disporopsis pernyi, cernua odorata, polygonatum commutatum, etc. and hopefully I will have some to divide in a year or two. I have a bunch of daylillies with no nametags (I can usually identify when in bloom).
