Jacks-n-the-pulpit blooming

I recently noticed several small jacks-in-the-pulpit in full "bloom" on my property. I don't recall ever seeing them at this time of the year.

Jacks at this time of year are really unusual!

But, some plants respond differently to environmental stress than others. Some even re-form flower buds if they were frost bitten - but, Jack in the Pulpit doing so is a new one for me.

I wish I could comment on this, but they don't like my sandy, dry yard. You are lucky to have them.

Wow you're very lucky. Mine have all died back with just dry leaves showing.
