Preparing for cold

So last I had checked the forecasts this weekend it was supposed to be 60s for a while. Now they are saying watching a storm for potential winter precipitation.

Now this past weekend I bought and planted a tree, and have to plant some hydrangea, rose, delphinium, azaleas, columbine and day lilies. Is it better to plant them or leave them in the pots and bring them in overnight? Worried about waiting to plant and then they can't get established.

Or should I plant them and add a good layer of mulch and frost cover?
