Hibiscus pest

Anyone have any idea what has been completely eating away the foliage of my hardy hiscus plants the last 2 yrs. No nearby plants are affected...just these guys. Looks like someone fired away at them with birdshot, and the blooms have been scarcer as a result. Is there a good remedy?

Mine were hit also. I think it's mallow moth larvae, a small green caterpillar. A couple of treatments with malathion will work.

Could've also been sawfly larvae. Check the underside of an affective leaf. I only handpick, but it was without a doubt a tedious year doing that. Although it might be too late now, keep it in mine for next year. It seems to get worse every year in my garden...
