Too Late for Blueberries?

| This may seem odd, but today a friend gave me a small blueberry plant they got over the summer that they never planted. The leaves are still on, but they are all red and will probably drop soon. Would it be best to bring it in and plant it in the spring or would it be okay to plant it outside now? If I plant it now, should I cover it w/ leaves or anything? Any suggestions? I live in Central NJ, Somerset County. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| Blueberries are deciduous. They will become dormant in winter. Plant it in a sunny location now. Mulch it and it should be OK. |
