Anyone here from Connecticut?

Posted by sharbear50 10 Port Saint Lucie (My Page) on

My DH and I are in Port Saint Lucie, FL and he is driving 105 miles south to work every day. He is looking at job opportunities in Connecticut. Are there any high crime areas or crowded areas that we should avoid if and when house hunting? We both like land around us and don't like city living. We are looking near the Naugatuck or Hartford areas. Thank you.

Well the two places you mention are city areas for sure. Given that, you can drive a short ways and be in nice areas.

Let me know what towns your interested in and I'll tell you what you need to know. Stick to the small dots on the map and you'll be ok.

Salem and Colchester are popular for people that work in Hartford. They are 30 or so minute drive from the city but have a very small town, country feel with low crime and good schools.

Suburbs in West Hartford are also great but pricey.
