Lupine postcard

A friend of mine went on an Alaskan cruise last August. Sweetie that she is, she sent me a postcard that is also a seed packet. It's some kind of lupines, the picture on the packet showed purple ones. Anyone from Alaska maybe see these postcards? I was wondering which lupines they are and maybe I should winter sow? Thanks!

RE: Lupine postcard

I have seen these postcards before. They make a very nice souvenir of Alaska. Your seed would be either Arctic Lupine or Nootka Lupine. The Nootka Lupine grows taller. They would be an excellent candidate for winter sowing.

Thank you Sherry! I'll look them up. It will be such fun to see them come up and bloom. I'll think of her (and probably you too) everytime I look at them.
