Does anyone know anything about wild cucumber vine or the latin name so I can look it up?

There are several things called wild cucumber - e.g. Echinocystis lobata or Sicyos angulatus. Both are weeds and aren't something you'd want in the garden

I love this vine! I grow it every year!

I has tiny white blooms that are very fragrant in the evening.

You do have to collect the seed pods before they burst though, as they reseed vigorously.
They are extremely easy to pull out where not wanted though....no way for them to become invasive unless you are an extremely lazy gardener...lol

I have a pic of my arbour where I grow them on the following link.

I have some seeds if you would like to send a SASE.

Let me know.......

Hi

Here is what mine looked like a few weeks ago. Next year, I am going to plant vines on both side of the arbour. I love that it reseeds itself and it is true that it is really easy to pull out the ones that you don't want as the baby plants are quite large.

I grew wild cucumber vine for the first time this year. It was planted with virginia creeper which was just starting to cover a fence. The contrasting colors of the leaves on these two plants and the white clouds of blooms from the cucumber vine was beautiful. I recieved many compliments on it from people driving by and will definitely do it again.
