Best climbing arbor flowers in the shade in Wis. ?

Hi! I want to cover 2 of my arbors with climbing flowers that are in a heavily shaded area most of the day. Does anyone have suggestions, as well as the best time to plant, etc.? I like colorful flowers, because both arbors are white. I would love something that grows fast and long, as well as being a perennial. One arbor is 8 ft. tall and the other is 6ft. Thank you in advance for your help!

Try dropmore scarlet honeysuckle. Blooms reliably in the shade and is hardy to zone 3. Mine hasn't gown all that fast, but has pretty blooms, attracts hummers, is in shade, and gets nice new growth each year. I think this is my second spring with that one. Melinda Myers recommends it in her Wisconsin Gardening book.

Thanks for the post. I have a 6 foot priovacy fence that shades the back half of our yard. I was looking to find a good flower to grow up a trellis. thanks!

honeysuckle is the only shade tolerant vine that will grow here (zone 3).
