With Spring around the corner, I was hoping to get some help with selecting the proper plants/trees fro oout northern exposure front porch. Th eplan is to hand four(4) itentical baskets and purchase some potted trees to keep in pots year-round to flank the front door...

So (1) What plant/plant combo do you reccomend for the hanging baskets and (2) what tree should I get?

We have a 2-story, white, colonial, w/ green roof/shutters

The front porch spans the entire front of home...

Thanks for the ideas and for keepin g w/ period of our home/style.

I don't know how strict you are about staying with the Colonial garden theme but here is a file that list some plants you may be interested in. It's a pdf file and takes a bit to load but well worth the information it contains. IMHO

Here is a link that might be useful: Colonial Garden Plants
