What to do with sprouted peonies

I bought 2 bags of peony from Costco today. They all have sprouts. Can I snap the growths off and still have growth later in the season or I just let them do their own thing ? TIA

If it were me, I'd pot them up and set them in a window or under lights. The sprouts may grow back if you remove them, or it could weaken the roots and then die.

Thanks Laurie

I potted them up and put them by the windows. Hopefully the cold from the window will slow them down.
