| Wow, maybe you didn't get that snowstorm yesterday! The old rule is: Plant peas when the forsythia blooms. I'd say the same for lettuce. Obviously, this will be a different time depending on where you are. Keep in mind that 'spring' does not refer to calendar dates, especially if your seeds come from the US, BC or UK! I ususually wait till the ground has dried out and warmed up a bit. They will grow a lot faster than planting in cold, wet soil. |
