Have any of you northerners put your tomatoes out yet ? I'm tempted...should I ?

I planned to put them out this weekend (in a raised bed) - assuming our flood waters have receeded by then. I've had the seedlings growing in our green house and have been hardening them off for about a week now. We live in just South of you - in central NH (on the edge of zones 4 and 5)

Long range forecast for Ottawa area is above freezing for the next 2 wks. I think I'm going to plant mine this weekend. I've got kozy coats though, in case of frost.

I have had my Sweet Million in the topsy turvy for about a week - this is the 2nd, as I ignored the warning about having a hook that could hold up to 15 lbs>!! Oops. I got an Early Girl and an Ultra Boy from Richmond, and they have been sitting next to the garden since last Friday. They seem quite happy. I guess we're OK till we aren't. ;o)

No way...way too cold and rainy up here near Penetanguishene. I have about 100 heirloom tomato plants in the house, getting bigger every day...and a few peppers and tomatillos...Put out about 12 last week in a portable PVC covered greenhouse. They are doing fine, but I doubt they will be ahead of the others once they get out there. Hope to plant them all out around June first or a bit later..Martha/zucchini
