too early for planting

I know i should know better but i planted my tomato plants outside too early and they froze. I covered them well with plastic but they still froze. Some of the plants i bought but the ones im most sorry for are the grape tomto seeds i've been saving from year to year because they are so good. Should have saved more, lost them all boohoo!

zone 2? Oh yes, much too early. Too early even for zone 5. Sorry for your loss. Maybe you can find some in a nursery though.

It's a late spring, anyway. I have seedlings started that really should be going outside by now. Among them Canary climbers that are starting to climb up the grow lights!

Well in Winnipeg, MB. The rule for planting is, you have to wait until may long weekend. (May 22) I bet your first frost free day might be around that time. Maybe???

"And today it's snowing. "

And I was feeling grumpy about the rain! More snow'd do me right in.

I would'nt plant tomatoes until atleast June 1st. That way the weather is warm and the plants grow like crazy.
