I don't see June as being too late - mind you, we might not get the rains as much then, so you'd have to be prepared to get out the old hose more often, than would be had you planted in early May.

I don't do veggies - our lot is acetic - lotta' pines and stuff. The soil's heavy clay that comes to the top and hardens everything.

But in my younger days, I used to plant veggies - and it usually was around June or so - that was in the east end of Toronto.

I once started tomatoes and corn in August - ha ha! That was in Orangeville . . . a friend took all the green tomatoes and made chow. I don't know what happened to the corn - we moved to an apartment building in fall of that year.
