Flower or weed?

I've got a bunch of these growing in my garden. Are they weeds?
I'd hate to pluck them only to find out later that they were on their way to becoming lovely flowers. ;) |

| Its ragweed. Get it out before they get too big! They grow long taproots. When I first started gardening I thought they were some sort of marigolds... little did I know! |

| Silveradofarmgirl - I did the exact same thing! Nurtured my "marigold" all summer till I finally figured it out. LOL |

| It seems that each year, I "ID" something in the early spring as a "plant", give it good care, even fertilize it, and it turns out to be a weed! It makes me feel a little sheepish. This, after about 40 years of gardening. You'd think I was past this stage by now... Just goes to show that one thing gardening is good for is keeping us humble, right? |

| Did the same thing! Planted tall marigolds but one of them looked a little different. I took care of it all summer but now realize its a weed. Do we ever learn? lol |
