 o
Japanese beetles and roses....

I just discovered quite by accident something which seems to be keeping the beetles off my roses.
In order to deter deer from munching on them, I have draped lightest weight deer netting over the roses.
It works.

I have also noticed that the beetles don't eat at the roses with the netting !
If you get the lightest weight deer netting it can barely be seen so you get to enjoy your rose blooms and protect them from deer and , as it turns out, beetles !

Or....does everyone else know this already and I'm just a late-comer !?
