I would like to plant a hedge row to provide privacy and sound reduction from a street that runs behind my 6ft privacy fence. I would like it to provide the privacy and noise reduction year round. I have mature Danville Pear trees there now but after recent storm we lost 2 of the 5 and now have huge gaps in our privacy. My plan is to remove the others since they are about 20 years old and are constantly breaking during ice and wind storms and falling on fence. Are there any fast growing trees or shrubs that might work for my area?
