is this a snake hole?

| I noticed a definite burrowed in type of hole in my lawn, with the grass in a cirle in the same direction leading down to a hole in the ground. Am wondering what this could be? It is similar to a mole hole except without the mound on top.
I have squirrels around but do they do this?

| Chipmonks tunnel. Snakes usually use someone else's hole, they have no arms for digging! |

| I think it could be voles as well as they leave holes without the "hump" at the entrance. I've never known squirrles to live in burrows. They have straw like nests in the trees around my house and on occation yell (more like scream) at me when they think I'm taking too much time to water the flowers etc. Good luck with your critter! I discovered several small holes while out weeding today, so I'm keeping an eye out for damage. Voles love to eat the roots of the plants (I think Hosta roots are on the "approved" vole menu) so look for holes right up next to the plants themselfs. Shannon |

| Do you have any water anywhere? Crawfish (crawdads) leave perfectly round holes. If you check your yard after a good rain, you may see them in the yard. |
