prairie mallow seedlings

I started some prairie mallow from seeds in a container. They're only about 3-5 inches tall and I'm wondering if I should plant them out in the garden this year or keep them inside until next spring. Also, if I keep them inside, will they need a period of cold, "down time" this winter?

Just plant them out - they should be fine, just like all the other seedlings that started on their own in your yard this season. Unless you have a very good light set-up, it would be difficult to keep them over the winter indoors - luckily, you don't have to.
