Tropical Gingers

Does anyone know of any nurseries in Canada that sells ginger rhizomes or seed? I am trying to find this info for a friend in Saskatchewan (sp) who is too busy to search herself. I would have posted to the Canada groups, but it says only Canadians can post to that forum. Shame. TIA !!!

Have your friend try Gardenimport.com . In their spring catalogue they had gingers for sale. They're called "Roscoae". I've ordered from them and have had pretty good luck.

What kind of ginger is your friend looking for? We sold a variety of ginger, 'asarum ? (can't remember species) that is a slow growing groundcover, not common, and fairly expensive. there were still a few straggly specimens left, last time I looked. This is in Medicine Hat, AB

Ray Mattei of ropic to Tropic Plants near Vancouver sells all sorts of hardy Hedychiums. I know Ray well, he's a good guy. He ships all over the place. Cheers, Banana Joe
