Does anyone grow hops in Western Canada ? I would like to try. I have lots of room and love trellis growth.

I don't grow it but see it growing in the area - seems to be trouble free, if not a little exuberant.

I grow it and its very hardy....I just posted a photo at the Far North Gallery.

Here is a link that might be useful: FN Gallery

I planted a hops vine last year to try it on the north (shady) side of my deck. It did great. This year it was up and growing, got froze off and came back just fine. It covered all the lattice 15' wide x 6' high one plant in the middle, just have to keep spreading the shoots as they grow. Generally hops are recommended for full sun, but this one seems to like the shade just fine too.
