Late Blooming shrubs ?

| I'm wondering if anyone has any late blooming shubs that they can recommend? Annabelle and Pee Gee and Limelight Hydrangea are in bloom now, which is a wee bit late for them here, but we've had a crazy summer. Would like to have some others that might carry over into Sept. Any suggestions ? |

| I can't think of any specifically fall-blooming shrubs to recommend, but I've found the potentilla and rugosa shrub roses bloom off and on throughout the summer and extend even into fall. Just a suggestion. Helene |

| You don't mention if this is a sunny area or partial sun but right now I have weigelia red prince in bloom and also a butterfly bush that is blooming. Both get morning sun. The rest of my Buddlia Shrubs are about finished blooming but this one is close to the house and I keep the spent flower heads trimmed off so it just keeps blooming it's head off and doesn't show any signs of slowing down! |

| My potentilla "Pink Beauty" is still covered with blooms and some new Spirea Japonica "Alpina" are starting a fall rebloom. |

| My Cimicifuga racemosa, although not technically a bush, is big enough to fit that category and is STILL blooming at this late date. Very attractive to those lazy bees looking for one last lunch and some rays before their long sleep. |

| Not a shrub, but my last bloomer here is Stonecrop Autumn Joy. It was finished last week when the deer ate the last bloom! I don't mind, they do this every year. Mine grows larger than it's supposed to (according to Lois Hole), it's over 30 inches tall before the deer get it. |
