Fountain Grass

| I know we had a rotten summer in Winnipeg this year..Could this be why my fountain Grass never set out blooms it was is a sunny location and only gave compost in the spring, would I have had more luck if I put it in a pot on the deck ? ... I know my cats liked chewing on some of it, but those were only the outer grass spikes.
What could of gone wrong? Has anyone else had this problem this summer?

| Here's a site for the discription saying it's perennial grass for zone 5. In zone 3 only an annual grass. http://www.co.pima.az.us/cmo/sdcp/sdcp2/fsheets/ex/fg.html |
