Looking for Cirsium sp

Hello,
It's been years since I've visited GW, got seed traded out for awhile there!
However I need some help and what better place to ask then here.
I got a request from a gentleman in Sweden for Cirsium hookerianum, c. undulatum, or c. scariosum. I had thought that I had found c. undulatum and collected what I thought was the seed and sent it off to him. Imagine the look on my face when he emailed me saying that I had only sent the chaff, and after researching further and finding pictures of the actual seed, realizing that I had probably sent him chaff from Canada thistle. I will swallow my pride, laugh at my blunder and try really hard to find the seed for this guy.
He sent me such awesome seed, I have to try.

So I'm looking for seed of the above thistles. Or does anyone know where it may be growing in the Calgary / Okotoks area? All are supposed to grow natively in Alberta but none of my hunting found any.

Thanks
Linda

RE: Looking for Cirsium sp

I was just wondering if it is allowed to send seeds oversea, they may carry disease to other countries. Especially wild native plants.
