What to do about cracks in cement of bluestone walkway

I had a beautiful curved walkway of irregular bluestone set in cement in front of our house on the northeast side last year. I did not seal it at the time and it has made it through one winter. It has a belgian block border. It now has small cracks in the cement between each piece, and I am nervous about these cracks geting worse this coming winter. Can I seal it now? (We have had a warm spell over the past week). What can I do to protect it from further cracks? What sealer can I use? The stone itself has no cracks. Also, I have a great reference on a mason in northern NJ if anyone is interested.

No response? I guess you will have to talk to your mason friend. He/she is probably your best source of information anyway.
