Late February through the middle of March is the time for planting tomatoes in Southern Nevada! Here is a link.

I'm sure it's much, much later for those in Reno and the northern part of the state. Pollination doesn't occur much beyond 90-95 degrees and below 50 degrees F.

I so agree Bill. Too many years I've been late planting tomatoes and the heat comes on before much fruit gets set and that is it for the year unless conditions are right for a fall crop. I just planted some seeds I had of early girl but I usually also get a six pack of heat resistant when they come out. Unfortunately I haven't found heat resistant to be that heat resistant. The tomato lady says she gets fruit set all through the summer with her varieties which amazes me because that has never been my experience. Maybe I'll buy some seeds from her this year.
