Near the main library at UNR is a tall skinny maple...

Near the main library at UNR are some relatively tall and skinny maple trees that keep their quite red leaves well into the winter.

Does anyone know which maple these are?

(Some universities have a list of plants on campus. Does anyone know if UNR publishes such a list?)

Albert,

We have an arboretum here in L.V at UNLV so I figured you might up there. I found this link which has some email addresses of people who can probably answer your question.

Good Luck with that, Maria

Here is a link that might be useful: UNR arboretum

It's probably October Glory variety of Red Japanese Maple

This variety keeps its leaves a little longer than most other red maples
