| Just when I think the winds are gone they come back to drive one mad. I was going to drive into Las Vegas this morning and buy flowers and some plants to replace the dead ones but not in these winds....... I would get blown off the road.
What do you do when it's this windy?
Of course everything needs to be done these days and I just refuse to go outside and freeze my hinee off doing chores out there.
Hopefully the winds will calm down and I can get out there to do stuff...and go buy those plants I want.

| Yes Beca I know what you mean. After a couple unusually warm weeks in February where I was ready to set tomatoes out this weather makes me glad we still have a huge stump in the place where the vegetable garden is going to go. Who knows what this weather would have done to them. Two weeks ago I was out planting, transplanting, and taking out winter killed plants in our back yard but not this week. I've contented myself with cutting back the cordia shrubs and deergrass. Somehow in cold windy weather cutting stuff back just feels right. When you decide to come into town email me and I'll see if I can meet you at plant world. Today I have to go to a training session for a fundraising activity for my high school age son and then take my daughter to irish dance lessons. Warmer weather is more conducive to nursery shopping but it's supposed to start warming up next week. Don't blow away, Maria |

| Hi Maria I'm still here.....;) It's nice out today-no winds (yet-LOL).....I would love to meet you at Plant World. I'll email you after this so maybe we can actually meet next week. My tomatoe plants are going out to the sunroom soon (as well as the other vege's & flowers I planted from seed). I will be turning off the oil heater out there very soon so it'll harden the little ones before I move them outside to harden out there. I grew some nastursiums from seed but had to move the plants away from where they were growing because of my cat...he thought it was cute to eat the leaves as they grew (HELLO?????)...now I know the flowers are edible but please give them a chance to grow first. Geezz. I grew some romaine and spinach that is almost ready to cut and eat. I have never grown lettuce before so I can't wait to eat them in a salad. B. |
