In an effort

to keep the Nevada forum a little more active, I'm going to try and post more often in hopes that others do as well. We have such a unique climate that I'd love to read what others are doing and dealing with. :)

A year and a half ago we bought a Linden sapling. DH thought it was growing a little crooked so we put on these "tree straps" to try and help it grow straight. They look kind of like cuff links that you attach string to and then tie the string to other spots. I apologize that I don't know the right name.

AAaaannyway, due to the last heavy snow fall, the strings holding the straps got weighted down and snapped the tree sapling to half its size. We'll be going to the nursery we got it at to see how this might affect growth. If we're told that this may cause it to grow with a "part", we'll want to get rid of it and plant a new tree.

If we do get rid of it, would someone local want it? Or, if you know how this will affect the tree growing, I'd appreciate any input.
