This crazy weather-it must be spring?

Don't get me wrong, I am very glad the hot weather isn't here yet. The weather keeps going back & forth...drives me crazy.

Some of my baby tomatoe seedlings died from the night temps/horrible winds last week so I ended up buying some more to plant. So much for growing them myself. Trying to decide when to plant them...I think today is the day. Cross your fingers and toes...;)

One of my rose plants has been blooming and it's flowers are sooo beautiful (it's a Nancy Reagan rose)...it's an orange sherbet color and it and it smells good too. The others have buds and are waiting to burst open. I am shocked these horrible winds haven't destroyed them.

My tulips are done flowering...I need to plant a half flat of petunias in there now. That should be it for the summer.

What's going on with your garden guys?

You're right, this has been some crazy weather and then this morning we actually got a little rain. Not enough to water the plants but about the right amount to make blowing dust stick onto our cars!

We finally got our chicken fence built so the space I had to leave available for the concrete truck is now available for making a couple of small vegetable beds. The boys used block to lay out one 4 x 8 bed and my little seed grown tomatoes will finally have a home if I can get some horsey byproduct worked in. Maybe I'll scrape out the chicken coop and use some of that too.

We finally got rid of the monstrous canary date palm from the front of our house. The landscaper I gave it to had a crew here two days digging it out and another half day with a crane to get it up and onto a truck. You know what they say, one person's trash is another's treasure.

Great news from you Maria!! I know you've been waiting to get that date palm out of your yard.

I finally just planted the replacement vegetable plants this morning. I don't care anymore about what weather comes. LOL. We got decent rain over here. What a surprise to wake up and see that. I had to pour out rain water from an empty container. Funny part is no plants needed water...but one got it anyway...;) I found that I have marigold seeds coming up in the vege beds too. Re-seeding from last year...I wondered if they would...I figured the heat would kill them off.

Good luck with your vegetable garden. I think you'll be fine since we've not had the hot weather "yet".

Did you know that it actually snowed in Tonopah yesterday?

Have fun working in the beds,etc...;)
