Can avacado trees grow in Las Vegas? anyone have any luck, or am I dreaming that one could withstand our winters, and summers? Any ideas?

RE: Avacado trees in Las Vegas

They will grow in Vegas with extreme protection from wind, heat, cold. I know of one in Henderson which was in the ground for 10 years before it was cut down. It was about 10 feet tall.
They have to be on a North or East facing wall. Direct sun will cook em in the summer. I should note, the one in Henderson never set fruit from what I could tell.
