| Hi, Sounds like it is a little colder there than what I've experienced in Henderson, or when I lived in LV. Are there others in your community that are growing lemons in their gardens? I notice other gardens, and placement of specific plants to see if I have a similar microclimate in my garden, when I contemplate adding something new. So let's assume that it is 'iffy' if they will do well because of the cold. You can keep them protected for the time being (the winter), and purchase an outside thermometer that will record the coldest temp of the day. You have to go out and check it daily I was told, and then you will have the specifics for your garden environment, without taking any chances of losing them. Where I am it is a little colder then LV. Recently I was told to place lemons against the north wall, as they will receive late afternoon sun, which would heat up the wall and add warmth through the winter. Others wrap on christmas lights, plug them in, and they remain on the lemon tree all winter. Hope this offers some help. ~ Laura Gardens In Desert |
