| Hello Barb, That is nice of you to offer to do that. May have to take you up on that sometime. This weekend coming up also there is a special event at Turner Greenhouses and they will have specialists giving lectures and a lot great desert plants. If you haven't been to Turner's do give it a try as the variety of plants is exceptional and you get to see something besides what,s available at Star and Plant world. Maria |

| Hi Maria, I was just thinking of posting to the forum. I am hooked on these humingbirds and want to plant some agastache. I was reading on the hummer garden forum you should plant it in the spring. Most of those posters are from back east. Do you think I could find it now? And where is Turner Greenhouse? I never heard of it. We did well at the Cashman field show and the one at Southpoint as well, but need a weekend off now. My dear hubby is always game to go plant shopping. The yard has filled is so much after I superbloomed it and my bottlebrushes are blooming again too. Even a few of my seedling salvias are blooming. I guess that weekend rain was a good boost. We cut the drip back from 3 times a day to 2 now. I'm so glad I found this whole site, it has so much info and such helpful folks. Thanks, Barb |

| Barb, I just received a handout with a schedule of the classes at Turner greenhouse this weekend. They will have speakers starting at nine on Sat. and Sun. and running throughout the day. They will also have outside plant venders as well as all the great assortment of the Turner's. If you go to thier website you can get a map as well as directions, it is not hard to find. Plug in www.Turner-Greenhouse.com and that should get you to there. Fall is a great time to plant most things here in Las Vegas, even better than spring except for the plants that are very cold tender. Agastaches will love being planted this time of year here. I just grow a couple of kinds because I have found most of them to be a little wispy in our heat but if you can give them a sheltered position they should be great. Penstemons and Salvias are also hummingbird candy both of which we have in abundance and hummingbirds fighting over "possesion" of our yard.
Here is our little 'watchbird" Maria |
